CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Mild weather will give way to high winds and colder temperatures this weekend in Cheyenne. A high wind watch has been issued for Bordeaux from 11 p.m. Friday through 11 a.m. Saturday, with gusts of up to 60 mph possible.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne also issued additional high wind watches for wind-prone areas, including sections of Interstates 80 and 25, from Saturday night through Sunday night. Winds may reach 55–70 mph, with the strongest gusts along the Laramie Range and nearby areas.
A strong cold front will arrive late Sunday and into Monday, bringing gusty winds, much colder conditions and a chance of snow. Scattered snow showers are likely Sunday night into Monday, with flurries lingering into Tuesday. High temperatures may struggle to reach freezing early next week, with lows dropping into the single digits or teens.
