High wind warning issued for southeast Wyoming through Saturday

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A high wind warning has been issued for southeast Wyoming, effective Friday night through Saturday, with gusts of up to 65 mph expected.

The warning primarily affects wind-prone areas along Interstate 80 and Interstate 25. According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, lightweight and high-profile vehicles may face strong crosswinds, creating hazardous travel conditions.

Snow shower chances will return Thursday evening in the mountains, with 1–2 inches of accumulation expected in some areas. Winds are forecast to remain gusty through the upcoming week, with strong winds continuing beyond Saturday in parts of southeast Wyoming.
