CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A high wind watch is in effect for central Laramie and eastern Platte counties from this afternoon through Saturday morning. West winds of 25–35 mph, with gusts of up to 60 mph, are possible, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

The NWS in Cheyenne warns that a few locally intense snow squalls may be possible in the lower elevations. Mountain areas could experience significant snowfall, with high winds adding to hazardous conditions.
As conditions evolve, another system is forecast to bring more snow and strong winds late Saturday through Sunday. Widespread wind gusts of 40–50 mph are expected through the early afternoon, contributing to areas of blowing and drifting snow.
