CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne will see mild temperatures through Saturday, but strong winds are expected to develop late Thursday night and continue into the weekend.
Highs will remain in the 50s east of the Laramie Range, thanks to downsloping winds and warmer air at higher elevations. West of Interstate 25, temperatures will stay cooler, especially at night. A high wind watch is in effect for wind-prone areas, with gusts possibly reaching high wind criteria through Saturday evening.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne said strong winds could extend into adjacent areas Saturday as a jet streak moves through northern Wyoming. A surge of 50–60 mph winds aloft may push into eastern Wyoming and parts of the Nebraska Panhandle.

Snow remains possible early next week, with models showing a prolonged mountain snow event for the Sierra Madres and Snowy Range. Accumulations could be significant, with moisture funneled from the Pacific. Light precipitation may reach the plains by Sunday evening and linger through midweek.
While models disagree on how quickly temperatures will decrease, a gradual downward trend is expected after the weekend.
