CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne is potentially looking at 3–5 inches of new snow accumulation in just the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
That comes as the community is placed under a winter weather watch as well as a high wind watch from late tonight through all of Tuesday. In that time, according to the NWS in Cheyenne, the area should see very high winds, lots of precipitation and patchy, blowing snow.
Before then, today will remain relatively mild and similar to the warmer days the area has been enjoying recently. Today’s high of 54 degrees is the best Cheyenne gets until this coming Sunday, when the high shoots back up to 56.
Despite the winter weather watch ending late Tuesday, the rest of the week also brings with it more chances for precipitation. Especially late at night Wednesday and all day Thursday and Friday, snow peppers the NWS in Cheyenne’s forecast essentially all week.
Cheyenne-adjacent areas to the west of town and nestled into the eastern front of the Laramie Range should expect to experience similar conditions.
