A man in Laramie has been recommended for a charge of Aggravated Assault and Battery, according to a statement from the Laramie PD.

Officials say that on February 11, 2020, at approximately 4:00 pm Laramie PD responded to the 1700 Block of Clydesdale Street, in Laramie, for a call requesting a welfare check on an intoxicated female subject, who reportedly wanted to report several crimes.

“As a result of the Officers’ investigation, Charles F. Wade, an 82-year-old Laramie resident, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery and three misdemeanor crimes,” Laramie Police said.

Bond was set at twenty-five thousand dollars on the felony charge and Mr. Wade remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.

Aggravated assault and battery is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
