Law Enforcement in Sweetwater County, Wyoming say that a man who is accused of assaulting a person in a Walmart parking lot, attempted to flee police with a toddler in his vehicle.

Rock Springs Police Department says that on Friday, February 14, 2020, officers were dispatched to the Rock Springs Walmart in reference to a 57-year old person who had been assaulted in the parking lot.

The victim reported they had observed the suspect driving recklessly through the Walmart parking lot and had told him to slow down.

Police later identified the suspect as 28-year old Stephen Fuller.

“The victim advised, and was confirmed by surveillance video, that Fuller then got out of his vehicle and assaulted [the victim],” Rock Springs Police said in a statement Monday. “A short time later Fuller was located driving near his house and when an officer tried to stop him he fled driving recklessly with one adult passenger and one toddler-aged passenger.”

Fuller reportedly fled the vehicle on foot, jumping a fence. Officers say that Fuller was ultimately located and arrested by just a few minutes later, and was recommended for multiple charges.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
