Sublette County Sheriff: County is colder than the North Pole

CASPER, Wyo. —  Reindeer and jolly old elves were not on hand in Sublette County today, however officials say that the county was colder than the North Pole.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office noted that temperatures in the Sublette County area were at -22 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

“Not only were we colder than the North Pole early this morning the weather service had us listed as the coldest in the State!” Sublette County Sheriff’s officials said on social media Wednesday. “Low of -22 in Sublette County. Anyone ready for summer?”

The National Weather Service forecast for Sublette County for the remainder of the day calls for sunny conditions, and a high near 11. Tonight calls for mostly clear conditions, with a low around -16. Wind chill values as low as -25. Widespread fog is expected during the early morning hours Thursday.
