CASPER, Wyo. — A Colorado woman died following a rollover crash on WY 414 near Mountain View on April 3, and a Green River man was flown by helicopter to a hospital at the University of Utah for injuries he sustained.
24 year old Colorado resident Kelsey L. Peters “succumbed to her injuries while being transported to a medical facility,” the Wyoming Highway Patrol said in a release on Monday, April 6.
The Green River man, who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Peters, has been identified as 30 year old Xavier M. Funk.

“On April 3, 2020, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 113 on Wyoming 414 near Mountain View, Wyoming,” the WHP says. “At 6:50 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a one-vehicle rollover.”
“A 2015 Toyota RAV 4 was headed south on Wyoming 414 when the vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway. The driver corrected back to the left before driving off the left side of the road and overturning.”
Neither Peters nor Funk were wearing seatbelts, according to the release.
“Speed and driver inattention is being investigated as possible contributing factors,” the WHP says. “This is the 14th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2020 compared to 37 in 2019, 22 in 2018, and 23 in 2017 to date.”
