CASPER, Wyo. — Hundreds have gathered at David Street Station for a march in protest of the killing of George Floyd, who died after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck and back for several minutes.
The march was set to begin at 12 pm Wednesday, June 3. A march organizer told the group that they had communicated with Floyd’s uncle through “familial ties,” according to reporters on scene.
The organizer said that Floyd’s uncle requested that demonstrators remain silent throughout the march.
