Suspect accused of making death threats toward health clinic in Sweetwater County

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Officials in Rock Springs, Wyoming say that one suspect is in custody after a Green River man is alleged to have threatened the lives of individuals at a Sweetwater County health clinic.

According to a statement from Rock Springs PD, on January 20, 2021, approximately 6:00 pm, Rock Springs PD responded to the Community Health Center for death threats made towards those inside the clinic.

When officers arrived at the clinic, they contacted staff and patients that were still inside. Police say that officers stood by while they all left the clinic.

“The phone number was traced back to a resident in Green River, Wyoming,” Rock Springs PD says. “Green River Police Department assisted and contacted Wade Prehn.”

Prehn was reportedly placed under arrest for Terroristic Threats and booked into the Sweetwater County Detention Center.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Sweetwater County District Attorney’s Office.
