CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming State Science Fair is inviting students in grades 6–12 to participate in its 2023 competition.
The opportunity is open to any Wyoming student in grades 6–12, including homeschool students or public school students in virtual programs.
In order to qualify for the state competition, students must first participate in a regional fair. If a public school student’s school doesn’t hold its own science fair, students can still participate and should contact Erin Stoesz, director of the Wyoming State Science Fair, at wyostatefair@gmail.com or 307-766-9863.
Regional fairs will begin in January 2023. The Wyoming State Science Fair is encouraging students to get started early on their projects, which can involve any original science, technology, engineering or math research. Students can conduct projects at home or as part of a school class or after-school activity.
Project ideas as well as rules and guidance are available online.
The state competition will be held sometime in early March 2023 and there are a range of prizes that will be available.
Educators can also request that Stoesz lead a workshop by contacting her via email.
