CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Mike Pence is just one of several keynote speakers who will be at the Rockies Petroleum Conference in Cheyenne this year.
This event will take place from Aug. 24 to Aug. 26 at the Little America Hotel and Resort and is the annual conference for the Petroleum Association of Wyoming.
Pete Obermueller, the president of the Petroleum Association of Wyoming, states that his industry “represents everybody in the oil and gas industry in Wyoming from the explorers and producers to pipelines, to refineries, and everybody who does work around oil and gas, so wildlife biologists, Environmental Consultants, geologists, and engineers.” The conference is an opportunity for all these separate industries to come together to talk about the oil industry as a whole.
Mike Pence is one of the keynote speakers at this event, and he will be joined by Christian S. Kendall, the president and CEO of Denbury, Inc.; and Bill Berry, the president and CEO of Continental Resources.
There are also several other speakers and panelists who will be present to speak about the industry. “The head of the Denver branch of the Kansas Federal Reserve Board will be talking about the state of the economy in Wyoming,” Obermueller states. “We will have a panel discussion about hydrogen and hydrogen creation. And transportation in Wyoming.
“We’ll have a panel to talk about the federal government and the changing attitudes about federal lands and how states like Wyoming that are almost entirely owned by the federal government in terms of oil and gas production and how that changes the outlook.”
Though this event is geared toward the various organizations in the petroleum industry, Obermueller states that anyone is invited to attend if they are looking to learn more about the industry.
