CASPER, Wyo. — Wyoming Game and Fish will close 2022 watercraft registrations effective Saturday, Oct. 1 as it prepares for the 2023 boating season.

Watercraft registrations will remain closed throughout October, but boaters will still be able to purchase 2022 aquatic invasive species stickers if needed, Game and Fish said.

Watercraft registration for the 2023 season will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 1. People will be able to register at Game and Fish offices and online. People will be able to register new boats online for the first time starting Nov. 1.

“This is a change from previous years — in the past boaters had to register their watercraft in person,” Game and Fish said.

Jennifer Doering, Game and Fish License section manager, added: “The new online registration system will allow for customers to upload their registration documents. This new system will be fast and one of the easiest ways to quickly register boats. Boat owners can also renew or transfer their registrations online with the forthcoming system.”

Game and Fish offers one-year and three-year watercraft registration options. Registration fees are as follows:

  • One-year registration: $30
  • Three-year registration: $80
  • One-year registration with Aquatic Invasive Species sticker: $40
  • Three-year registration with AIS sticker: $110

In order to register watercraft or renew registration, the signature of the owner or co-owner is required.

“Renewal notices will be sent for expired watercraft in November of 2022,” Game and Fish added. “Customers will be able to renew their watercraft through the mail by returning the renewal notice and fees. Aquatic invasive species sticker purchases and watercraft registration renewal can be done online.

“For more information on watercraft registration or safe boating requirements, visit the Game and Fish website or call (307) 777-4600.”
