CASPER, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming has produced several NFL players currently making an impact. Here’s how they did in the most recent week’s slate of games.
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
It was another great week for the Bills’ star gunslinger, as Allen put up big numbers in his team’s 32–6 domination over the New York Jets on Sunday. Allen finished the game with 275 yards on 20-for-32 passing. He threw a trio of touchdowns in the win.
Allen has thrown for 2,875 yards and 22 touchdowns, with a roughly 70% completion percentage. He currently ranks fourth in the NFL in both passing yards and completion percentage, and he leads the league in passing TDs.
Marcus Epps, Las Vegas Raiders
Epps was injured in his team’s loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, leading to a steep drop in playing time.
In the 20–13 loss, Epps finished with one tackle while taking the field for fewer than a quarter of the team’s defensive downs.
After the game, it was reported that Epps may have suffered a neck stinger. It’s unknown as of press time if the injury will impact his status for Week 12.
Thus far in the 2023–24 season, Epps has 45 tackles and a fumble recovery.
Tashaun Gipson Sr., San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers’ veteran safety had a trio of tackles in the team’s 27–14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He now has 34 total tackles and an interception on the season.
Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints
Granderson and the Saints did not take the field in Week 11, instead enjoying their bye week. He will next be in action this coming Sunday in a rivalry showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.
Granderson has 44 tackles, including 5.5 sacks, as well as a forced fumble and fumble recovery thus far this season.
Tyler Hall, Las Vegas Raiders
In the most playing time he’s had since Week 6, Hall had a solid outing on Sunday against the Dolphins.
The young safety finished with four tackles in the loss, taking the field for about 60% of the team’s defensive snaps and a handful of special teams snaps.
Hall has 17 tackles this season.
Chad Muma, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars looked like they returned to form on Sunday, dispatching the Tennessee Titans 34–14. However, Muma did not record a stat in the victory. Muma — who was not listed as injured — appeared for just two plays.
Thus far in 2023–24, the second-year linebacker has 15 tackles.
Mike Purcell, Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos’ defensive tackle had a single tackle in their dramatic 21–20 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Purcell has 11 tackles so far this season.
Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals
Though it came in a 34–20 loss, Wilson was stellar again in his team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. The Casper native and Bengals star linebacker had nine tackles and his second forced fumble of the season.
Wilson has 79 tackles, two forced fumbles and three interceptions this year.
Wilson leads the team in tackles, is tied for the team lead in forced fumbles and is second on the team in interceptions behind teammate Cam Taylor-Britt.
Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Wingard had a decent outing for Jacksonville in the team’s win over Tennessee. The key reserve had a trio of tackles in the outing.
For the season, Wingard has 26 tackles and an interception.
