Severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 4:15 p.m. Tuesday for portion of southern Laramie County

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The National Weather Service station in Cheyenne has issued a severe thunderstorm warning to last until at least 4:15 p.m. Tuesday for a portion of southern Laramie County.

The alert area is for a portion of the county located just south of Cheyenne. Weather spotters from the station reported seeing a severe thunderstorm near F.E. Warren Air Force Base, or seven miles southwest of Cheyenne, moving southeast at 15 mph.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail is expected. Interstate 25 will be affected from mile markers 1 to 8 and I-80 will be from mile markers 351 and 357, the station said.
