Lightning strike causes fire in Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming

CASPER, Wyo. — A wildfire caused by a lightning strike was discovered in the Bridger-Teton National Forest on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The Flagg Fire was discovered at around 3 p.m. Tuesday near Huckleberry Ridge on the Blackrock Ranger District in the Teton Wilderness.

Resources responded to suppress the fire, which was estimated at an acre in size. No road or trail closures were implemented, according to the U.S. Forest Service for the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Fire danger in the Bridger-Teton National Forest is at “high,” the announcement added.
