The University of Wyoming Family Medicine and Educational Health Centers of Wyoming (EHCW) are pleased to announce the addition of Sophie Baxter PA-C to our healthcare team. With a strong passion for patient-centered care and a commitment to clinical excellence, Sophie brings valuable experience and a compassionate approach to our clinic.

Sophie Baxter is a NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a Masters of Health Sciences degree in Physician Assistant Studies from South College. She graduated in December 2015, practiced in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for five years, then began practicing in Family Medicine. Along the way, she has also provided Wound Care specialty services. She has worked in both urban and rural communities and continues to provide care for underserved areas of medicine. 

She has discovered a true passion for working with patients in a comprehensive and inclusive manner. By considering the whole person, not just their symptoms, she aims to address current health concerns while also developing personalized plans for long-term management and prevention. She believes the most effective care is guided by the individual, empowering each patient to take an active role in their health journey while receiving advice rooted in their best interests. Her mission is to identify accurate diagnoses and support patients in understanding and managing their health to improve overall quality of life. And if possible, she hopes to make every patient smile or laugh at least once during their visit.

After the arrival of her baby in 2022, she has embraced family life, spending quality time with her son, Luca, through camping, hiking, and other adventures.

Sophie has extended hours at our clinic with appointments available Mondays–Thursdays and is looking forward to getting to know the community and supporting our mission to provide high-quality, inclusive healthcare for all.
