We are in the home stretch of the Wyoming Primary Campaign. It has been a nasty one filled with lies and personal attacks. We have made every effort to provide factual, accurate information about legislation introduced by the Wyoming Freedom Caucus in recent years.

We are two multigenerational Wyomingites and proud Wyoming Republicans. When we saw what was happening to our cherished institutions like the University of Wyoming, and critical services like hospitals, police, fire, EMS, libraries, and economic development, we decided to speak up. We believe republican voters deserve clear and accurate information about Wyoming’s funding challenges and the Freedom Caucus legislation that has contributed to them.

Instead of engaging with the funding reports and the legislative breakdowns we have shared, some opponents have resorted to name-calling, questioning our character, and attempting to portray us as outsiders or as “not true Wyomingites.” It is disheartening to see how little civility is left in public discourse. Though we are weary, we will continue to inform the voters of Wyoming.

Shawn Madden, proud father of Common Sense Republicans for Wyoming Co-Founder Emily Madden, took to the airwaves last week to share his perspective. He did not denigrate or lash out. He simply explained why, as a lifelong Wyoming Republican, he is concerned about the future of our state and what it will mean for his children and grandchildren. Check out his video below.

Believe in Wyoming. Our best days are ahead. Early voting now through Monday, August 17th. In-person voting on Primary Day, Tuesday, August 18th. Check our voter guide for our endorsed candidates.

Sincerely,
Scott Ortiz & Emily Madden
